For this purpose, 32 pregnant women were recruited and given probiotic capsules twice daily for 6 days and this process was repeated after 2 days interval.

After a 16-day study, the women were screened for 17 days.

The researchers found that the use of probiotics significantly reduced the severity of nausea and vomiting in pregnant women.

Overall nausea decreased by 16% and vomiting decreased by 33%.

Similarly, the use of these supplements significantly improved the quality of life associated with these symptoms, such as fatigue, decreased appetite, and general social activities.

Probiotics have also significantly reduced the risk of constipation, the study found.
