In the study, experts looked at the memory, perceptions, language, and reaction times of 5,247 people between the ages of 45 and 75, as well as neurocognitive tests.

The researchers also asked research participants to fill out questionnaires about their sleeping habits, when they go to bed, when they get up and how long they sleep during the day.

The researchers found that 15% of people slept 9 hours a night and had a 13% reduction in memory and a 20% reduction in their ability to communicate.


Dr. Ramos, a neurologist at the University of Miami, says: “We’ve found that people who get too much sleep or those who get too little sleep are more likely to have memory impairments.” Going forward, mental illness leads to Alzheimer’s.

Experts studied 1,724 primary and secondary school students, who found that 13- to 19-year-olds who slept seven hours slept better than those who slept nine hours a night.

Students need less sleep as 10-year-olds need 9 and a half hours of sleep, 12-year-olds need 8 to 8 and a half hours of sleep, and 16-year-olds need 7 hours of sleep
