But in February 2020, BlackBerry Mobile’s partnership with TCL ended.
However, in 2021, BlackBerry phones are coming back again, and this time the Canadian company has partnered with FIH Mobile Limited, a subsidiary of On Word Mobility and Foxconn.
The partnership was announced in August 2020 and now Peter Franklin, CEO of Onward Mobility, has confirmed that the first 5G BlackBerry phone will be introduced soon.
This 5G BlackBerry phone will have a physical keyboard instead of a touch screen.
The phone will have new hardware and technologies in line with the requirements of the current era.
Onward Mobility is currently working with Focus Con to develop the first models.
These BlackBerry phones will be available in North America, Europe, and Asia.
There is currently no release date for the phone, but it will be available in 2021.
No further details were given about the phone, but the announcement did emphasize security.
BlackBerry’s last smartphone was introduced in 2018 under the name of K2 which was given Android operating system and physical keyboard.
