It’s hard to believe, but the two best-selling smartphones worldwide between July and September were not Huawei or Samsung.
Apple’s iPhones are the top two Most selling phones in the third quarter of this year, according to a report released by smartphone market data company Canals.
In fact, this is not the first time that the iPhone 11 has been the best-selling smartphone in the world for four consecutive quarters or a year.
Of the top 10 Most selling phones, 5 are from Samsung and 3 from Xiaomi.
But none of the phones are close to Apple’s iPhone 11, which turned out to be the consumer’s favourite phone this quarter.
During July-September, Apple sold 16 million iPhone 11s, followed by the iPhone SE (2020), which sold 10 million units.
Interestingly, the iPhone SE is currently the cheapest iPhone available, but last year’s iPhone 11 is still the center of attention.
The iPhone 11 accounted for nearly 40 percent of Apple’s total phone sales in the third quarter, compared to the iPhone SE’s 28 percent.
Samsung Galaxy A21S is in the third position, followed by Galaxy A11 at the fourth and Galaxy A51 on the 5th.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 9/10X came in at number six, followed by Redmi 9, Galaxy A31, Redmi 9A and Galaxy A01 Core at 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th respectively.
It is to be noted that during the July-September quarter, Samsung once again won the title of the world’s number one smartphone company, which was earlier snatched by Huawei during April-June.
During the April-June quarter, Huawei became the number one company for the first time due to an increase in demand for phones in China during the Coronavirus epidemic, while a decline in other countries.
According to Counterpoint, sales of Huawei’s phones fell 7% during July-September, compared to 24% in the same period last year. In contrast, Samsung’s phone sales rose 47% in the 3rd quarter.
