Noorhan Abdullah, a senior analyst at the International Data Corporation, told Arab News that 385,000 wearable units were delivered in Saudi Arabia in the third quarter of the year.
This is an increase of 7 percent over the previous year.
Abdullah added that the three most popular items were wristbands, hearing aids (earphones, headphones) and watches. The best-selling brand was China’s Xiaomi.
Demand for wearable items increased in the third quarter of this year due to sanctions imposed on the coronavirus, he said.
Wristbands, which were in high demand in the market, declined in the third quarter while listening devices grew by 54.8%.
Overall, wristbands and listening devices accounted for 88.7% of all device sales during the period.
Samsung’s smartwatches topped the smartwatch category.
